If you have any favorite books, that are kindergarten appropriate in
length and content, please let me know the title and author and its
general theme. THANKS!
An exciting idea for a project. I will be interested to see how exactly you decide to use the literature. I recommend you check out the site Math Solutions which is tied to Marilyn Burns. There are many great suggestions for math stories and I believe the list is broken down by grade level and curriculum area.
Here are just a few books that I love to use. I know there are more but I am just forgetting them! LOL
The Very Hungry Caterpillar (this hits a number of standards at once) Several Versions of The Little Red Hen Brown Bear, Brown Bear Any of the books from the Series "There was an Old Lady..." (sequencing) Different Versions of the The Gingerbread Man (Baby, Girl, Friends, etc.) The Mitten & The Hat by Jan Brett
I also like to compare and discuss books by the same author (like the ones above)
I hope this helps. As I think of more, I will post them on here! :)
Ten Black Dots by Donald Crews Chicka Chicka 123 Feast for 10 by Cathryn Falwell Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes by Mem Fox Over in the Meadow by Ezra Jack Keats The Shoemaker and the Elves The Cheerios Counting Book M & M's Counting Book "Monster Math" series
