My Change Project is tentatively (once the Cape Committee's approval is
obtained) to teach the kindergarten standards through quality
children's literature and activities. I am currently looking for any
suggestions for number sense to 100, beginning addition/subtraction, and
night vs day. I will be adding more topics weekly. Thanks!
Your approach is sure to engage those little kindergarteners! There are so many quality pieces of literature to choose from....I'll keep you in mind and send any ideas your way! Good luck with your Change Project!

ReplyDeleteI have a question? Are you going to target specific standards or all kindergarten standards? I was wondering as I remember our conversations during class and the standards are pretty intense for that grade level. As I am not versed in the K standards and your curriculum, what are the textbooks you use with your class? Sorry but I am full of questions instead of comments. One comment I do have is I am happy to see that you are challenging your students with this topic and providing them with quality reading and supporting activities. I do believe that creating videos during these sessions to share out on your website for other teachers to use as a guide would be most beneficial. I know I would love to see how this process evolves and your students' learning progresses. Good luck and I look forward to following your project.

This reminds me of Whole Language taught all those years ago when some of the KG classes were able to be NAEYC certified!
