I am currently working on the book Chrysanthemum. Here are the preliminary ideas. Once complete I will add standards. Please give me any suggestions.

- Read the book
- Stopping along the
way for vocabulary - (have not pulled book yet for specific vocabulary)
(will have pictures of the flowers mentioned in the book)
- Stopping to predict,
review, ask why did that happen, discuss character feelings

- Read or review book

- Chrysanthemum was
teased about how long her name was. Write it large on the board. Let's
count the letters in her name. Do it together 2x. Allow students to come
up and point to each letter and count.
- Together write the
numerals above each letter as you count orally.
- Give students the
numerals 1- 10 to place in order.
- Shuffle redo.
Lesson 4
- We used
Chrysanthemum's name to count and to order numerals now we are going to
use it to compare. (explain)
- Have name written
inside blocks (on pre-made chart)
- One at a time have
children add their names in same fashion.
- Teach
"graph". Vertical label - names Horizontal label -
